The contract for the International Institute for Product and Service Innovation (IIPSI) has been awarded to the firm’s Coleshill office. Surveyors are on site and work will get under way on the new scheme shortly, with a view to being completed next summer. How the International Institute for Product and Service Innovation will look Nick Heath, operations director for the firm, said: “We are excited to be involved in the new International Institute for Product and Service Innovation project, which is located close to our Midlands office. “One key element of our approach is our commitment to using local supply chains, wherever possible, to ensure that local economies reap the benefits of major capital schemes in their midst. The size and nature of this project makes it ideal to utilise Midlands based SMEs, which we will do wherever possible.” The IIPSI building is part of a £12m programme jointly funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the University of Warwick in a funding partnership brought together by the regional development agency, Advantage West Midlands (AWM). The programme is designed to give Midland-based SMEs access some of the world's leading product and service design technology. The institute will have an open plan environment allowing users free access to the latest technology. Firms using the facility will be able to talk directly to academics about their own technological needs. WMG said the institute aimed to bring under one roof product and service technologies including: multi-functional polymers that enable advanced electronics and functionality to be embedded in three dimensional plastic moulded components, plus digital design tools that can create virtual products that can be shared with production partners.
