New NASA Human Research Program Intermittent Artificial Gravity Opportunity
NASA’s Human Research Program (HRP) has released solicited research response area NRA
NNJ15ZSA001N-AGBR “Physiological and Behavioral Responses in Humans to Intermittent
Artificial Gravity during Bed Rest” that solicits research in support of HRP goals and objectives.
This response area is Appendix G of the Human Exploration Research Opportunities (HERO)
NRA (NNJ15ZSA001N).
NASA is soliciting investigations focusing on the physiological and behavioral responses in
humans to intermittent artificial gravity during 60 days of head-down tilted bed rest. Proposals
selected in response to this solicitation will be conducted in the :envihab bed rest module and
will make use of the :envihab short-arm centrifuge located in Cologne, Germany at the German
Aerospace Center Institute for Aerospace Medicine.

are due on March 7, 2016.

All categories of United States (U.S.) institutions are eligible to submit proposals in response to
the NRA. Principal Investigators may collaborate with universities, Federal Government
laboratories, the private sector, and state and local government laboratories. In all such
arrangements, the applying entity is expected to be responsible for administering the project
according to the management approach presented in the proposal. For this solicitation,
proposers from the U.S. are strongly encouraged to include international partners from countries
supporting space agencies that participate in the International Space Station Program. NASA’s
policy is to conduct research with non-U.S. organizations on a cooperative, no exchange-offunds basis.
