March 5, 2015 MEMORANDUM TO: Kevin Ayotte, Chair Academic Senate FROM: James Mullooly, Chair Academic Policy & Planning Committee RE: APM 253 (Policy on Instructional Television Fixed Service) This memorandum will serve to inform the Academic Senate that the Academic Policy & Planning Committee noted the presence in the APM of a hitherto inactive policy. APM 206 (May 11, 2004) page 1 paragraph 1 “The Policy on Technology-Mediated Instruction (TMI) replaces the Policy on Instructional Television Fixed Service (Academic Policy Manual 253, approved September, 1989), and supplements, but does not replace, other currently existing policies and review processes, including those at the department or school/college level.” In addition to this observation, AP&P reviewed the content of APM 253 in its modification of APM206 (Interim Policies and Procedures on Technology-Mediated Courses and Programs) (see the attached “206Redline2.26.15 (AP&P).doc”) to insure that APM206 includes all pertinent issues raised in APM253. AP&P suggests that the two of these policy actions (APM 253 and APM 206) be addressed together. Attachment JM: vb
