2015-2016 Returner Orientation Job Description Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled at Fresno State and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Also, candidates must have completed a minimum of two semesters at Fresno State by summer of 2016. Duties and Responsibilities: Returning Orientation Leaders will serve as ambassadors to incoming freshman and transfer students during orientation. Duties include, but are not limited to: Assist with recruitment of new Orientation Leaders Process telephone and e-mail inquiries Mentor new Orientation Leaders Compile and collate materials for orientation Set up and take down of orientation sessions Engage with students, their parents and other guests Conduct campus tours & presentations Assist students with class registration Input survey data into online database Perform other duties as assigned Work Hours: Returner Training Meeting: Feb. 5 Meet-and-Greet: Feb. 12 NODA Conference: Feb. 19–21 Training Nights: March 11, April 8, and April 29 Training Week: May 31 – June 10 (weekdays) Dog Days: o June 13-14, 16-17, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29 o July 1, 12, 14, 19, 21 Orientation Leaders are required to work ALL of the summer orientation dates listed below as well as training weeks. The dates of employment will be from Feb 2016 to July 2016. Orientation Leaders will work on average 25 hours a week including a minimum number of non- Dog Days. Orientation days are approximately 10- hour work days. If Winter Orientations take place, Orientation Leaders are expected to work a minimum number of hours in December. Additional Info: During the spring semester all returning orientation leaders will be required to work office hours. All orientation leaders hired will have a probationary status until completion of all training nights.
