Discussion points according to JCA-CIT ToR (JCA-CIT-I-012)
According to JCA-CIT ToR participants discussed two important items which are related to C&I
activities.
First item was devoted to the new APT/ITU C&I event which is being planned nowadays.
Mr Kaoru Kenyoshi (Japan) presented JCA-CIT-I-044, describing the purposes and expected
outcomes of this event. APT decided to conduct this event in Bangkok (Thailand) from 25 to 26
August 2014. This event is devoted to C&I testing and showcasing and will include testing the
following technologies: IMS-NNI, IoT, e-Health, M2M, language translation. JCA-CIT invited all
interested parties to join this event. The progress on the preparation to this event will be presented at
the next JCA-CIT meeting (11 July 2014).
The second item was devoted to the outcomes of the Correspondence Group (CG) on collaboration
between ITU and Testing Laboratories. The overview of CG activities was presented by the CG’s
Chairman Mr Isaac Boateng. The CG had two meetings (20 February and 9 April, 2014).
CG discussion was based on the contribution C-97 to the SG11 meeting which has been proposed
by Russia in November 2013. During discussions at the February 20, meeting, CG decided to
collect best practice of other SDOs/Forums/Consortia on the implementation of
accreditation/recognition procedures. Two contributions from Alcatel –Lucent and Ghana were
submitted during the April 9 e-meeting. The full meetings report will be made available at the next
CG meeting (11 June 2014). The Chairman of CG emphasized the importance of the inputs
submitted by CG’s participants which will be also used for developing the unified TL's recognition
approach acceptable for all players. All participants of JCA-CIT have been invited to join the CG at
the next meeting which is scheduled on 11 June 2014.
Finally, Chairman of JCA-CIT highly appreciated all ITU-T SGs for their activities in C&I and
invited liaison officers to inform participants about C&I issues which are under study in SGs. He
emphasized that JCA-CIT will continue to assist SG11 to follow up a living list of key technologies
suitable for conformity and interoperability testing and for running pilot projects directed to the
conformity assessment against ITU Recs.
