Opening from JCA-CIT Chairman The third meeting of the ITU-T Joint Coordination Activity on Conformity and Interoperability Testing (JCA-CIT) took place electronically on 10 April 2014. The meeting was attended by 16 participants who were connected remotely via teleconference and Adobe Connect to share documents. The full list of participants is available on the web and is represented in Annex 3. The meeting started at 14:30 and was chaired by Mr Martin Brand, Chairman of JCA-CIT (AT1, Austria). As far as JCA-CIT assists SG11 to implement the ITU C&I Programme, Chairman gave a brief presentation of the WP4/11 outcomes and informs participants about ITU-T SGs inputs to the related C&I living lists. Chairman emphasized that contributions as well as participation of ITU-T SGs liaison officers and other interested parties at the next JCA-CIT meetings will be highly appreciated. Finally, he noted that next JCA-CIT is scheduled on 11 July 2014 which takes place back-to-back with the ITU-T SG11 meeting (9-16 July 2014). 2. Approval of the agenda The Agenda of the meeting was approved with minor changes and it can be found at JCA-CIT-I042 Rev1 (reproduced in Annex 1). List of official liaison officers Chairman JCA-CIT presented the revised version of the list of official officers of ITU-T SGs which is based on the information provided by ITU-T SGs. The revised list is available in the JCA-CIT-I041. 5. Discussion points according to JCA-CIT ToR (JCA-CIT-I-012) According to JCA-CIT ToR participants discussed two important items which are related to C&I activities. First item was devoted to the new APT/ITU C&I event which is being planned nowadays. Mr Kaoru Kenyoshi (Japan) presented JCA-CIT-I-044, describing the purposes and expected outcomes of this event. APT decided to conduct this event in Bangkok (Thailand) from 25 to 26 August 2014. This event is devoted to C&I testing and showcasing and will include testing the following technologies: IMS-NNI, IoT, e-Health, M2M, language translation. JCA-CIT invited all interested parties to join this event. The progress on the preparation to this event will be presented at the next JCA-CIT meeting (11 July 2014). The second item was devoted to the outcomes of the Correspondence Group (CG) on collaboration between ITU and Testing Laboratories. The overview of CG activities was presented by the CG’s Chairman Mr Isaac Boateng. The CG had two meetings (20 February and 9 April, 2014). CG discussion was based on the contribution C-97 to the SG11 meeting which has been proposed by Russia in November 2013. During discussions at the February 20, meeting, CG decided to collect best practice of other SDOs/Forums/Consortia on the implementation of accreditation/recognition procedures. Two contributions from Alcatel –Lucent and Ghana were submitted during the April 9 e-meeting. The full meetings report will be made available at the next CG meeting (11 June 2014). The Chairman of CG emphasized the importance of the inputs submitted by CG’s participants which will be also used for developing the unified TL's recognition approach acceptable for all players. All participants of JCA-CIT have been invited to join the CG at the next meeting which is scheduled on 11 June 2014. Finally, Chairman of JCA-CIT highly appreciated all ITU-T SGs for their activities in C&I and invited liaison officers to inform participants about C&I issues which are under study in SGs. He emphasized that JCA-CIT will continue to assist SG11 to follow up a living list of key technologies suitable for conformity and interoperability testing and for running pilot projects directed to the conformity assessment against ITU Recs. The Chairman also asked other interested parties to collaborate more active and to contribute inputs to the next JCA-CIT meetings. 6.
