WHERE: English High School Auditorium 144 McBride Street Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 WHEN: Thursday, March 29, 2012 @ 6:00 – 8:00 pm Public Information Meeting PURPOSE: The purpose of this meeting is to present the concept alternative selected to replace the existing Casey Overpass Structure that will be advanced into 25% design phase, and the expected plan for public involvement and development of design going forward. The selection of the preferred alternative is the culmination of an extensive planning study process conducted over the past year as a collaborative effort between MassDOT, DCR, City of Boston, MBTA and a dedicated public Working Advisory Group. PROPOSAL: This completed project phase consisted of planning and study to determine a preferred alternative for replacement of the existing overpass structure to manage and balance multi-modal mobility and diverse livability needs of the area. The planning study phase consisted of extensive and inclusive public outreach and input, and encompassed at-grade and structural solutions. The recommended alternative will be advanced into design phase for eventual construction within the schedule of the Commonwealth’s Accelerated Bridge Program. Written views received by MassDOT subsequent to the date of this notice and up to five (5) days prior to the date of the hearing shall be displayed for public inspection and copying at the time and date listed above. Plans will be on display one-half hour before the hearing begins, with an engineer in attendance to answer questions regarding this project. A project handout will be made available on the MassDOT website listed below. Written statements and other exhibits in place of, or in addition to, oral statements made at the Public Information Meeting regarding the proposed undertaking are to be submitted to Thomas F.
