W ork Area Protection Corporation was founded in 1969 by Richard A. Nelson and Hank Bolt. The company
started in Bolt’s Elmhurst, Illinois basement, where the partners manufactured signs and sign stands for the utility market.
As Work Area Protection grew into other markets, it was awarded its first state contract from the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation. The contract, to provide sign stands, made it necessary to move the operation from its basement location to a larger facility in Addison, Illinois.
The company continued to grow and moved again to St. Charles, Illinois where traffic cone manufacturing began. Work Area Protection has grown to be one of the world’s largest and most respected manufacturers in the field of temporary traffic control devices.

In 1986, Work Area Protection became a subsidiary of Stabler Companies, Inc. (SCI), providing SCI with a wellknown and respected nationwide distribution network. The company’s growth has continued with the addition of new, high-quality products that include the Plastic Safety Barrel, Solar Arrow Boards, Channelizer Cones and Smart Cushion Crash Attenuators.

Channelizer Drums and Bases are engineered to withstand the harshest traffic, construction and weather conditions. Because of their durability, they’re very cost effective.
They’re also easy to set up and take down. The innovative snap-on bases lock secure and tight to the drum.
The base’s bottom design hugs tightly to road surfaces.

• The barrel body and bottom section both incorporate a non-circular cross section to inhibit rolling after impact

These durable and highly visible channelizers come with or without reflective sheeting. A tapered, fracture-resistant handle provides for added strength, easy pickup and the mounting of lights, signs and other accessories. The vertical sheeting surface has a five-tier, telescopic design, which promotes ease of stacking. Anti-rotation ribs at the bottom make for a stable, secure attachment to the base. A rugged, recycled rubber base provides stability and support with designed-in features to enhance skid resistance, stacking and handling.

Pyralite Model 800 Barricade Light
The Pyralite 800 Barricade Light provides superb protection for your workers and equipment. The
7”-diameter lens with 1/2” peripheral reflect ring is constructed of tough polycarbonate with superior optical qualities. The entire head assembly swivels 360°, independently of the bulb, and consists of two identical halves to reduce replacement cost.
The battery case is constructed of high-density linear polyethylene to increase durability with ultraviolet inhibitors to enhance color retention. To discourage theft and vandalism, the unit is secured by a zinc-plated steel 1/2”-diameter bolt with tamper-proof head and cup washer through a heavy-duty die-cast nut plate.
A plated steel wrench is provided for easy bolt removal. The solid-state circuit unit is designed with a breakaway bulb and socket stem. It uses a reliable, UL-Approved socket with a spring bulb contact.
A snap-on lower housing allows for quick servicing. High-quality silicon transistors and tantalum capacitor provide reliability.
Additionally, the entire circuit module is encapsulated in epoxy for protection against moisture and shock damage. A UL-Approved, positive-action ON/OFF switch is concealed, but can be activated externally with the supplied switch key.

The Easy-Off manhole cover remover is a lightweight yet durable tool that is versatile enough to remove even the most stubborn manhole covers. Operating Instructions

Secure the “J” hook through the hole of the manhole cover.
2.
Next, position shaft over manhole
(as shown), take up the chain slack and attach to “S” hook.
3.
Pull back on Easy Off handle displacing cover. Move tool away from manhole until chain is tight and repeat.
