GLOBE Awards Tantalus Top Honors for Technology Innovation
Vancouver, BC – March 24, 2010 – Success in developing and commercializing Smart Grid technology
earned Tantalus a 2010 GLOBE Award for Environmental Excellence in the category of Technology
Innovation and Application.
Tantalus was recognized by the GLOBE Foundation, Canada‟s premier awards program acknowledging
business excellence and environmental stewardship, for its achievement in establishing the Tantalus
Utility Network (TUNet®) as a market leading Smart Grid solution. Tantalus technology enables electric,
gas and water utilities to automate the way they monitor and manage their distribution networks, and
serves as the communications platform for interactive conservation programs.
Eric Murray, Tantalus‟ President & CEO, said this award validates Tantalus‟ product vision and the
company‟s efforts to make the energy system more efficient and environmentally friendly. The GLOBE
Award for Innovation and Application is given to a company able to translate an innovative concept into a
successful commercial product that acts to substantially reduce environmental impacts while contributing
to overall efficiency and operational improvement.

This is the third industry award Tantalus and its customers have received this month, with Pulaski Electric
System earning awards of excellence from both Metering International and Power Grid Magazine for the
business, operational and customer service benefits it achieved as a result of a Tantalus deployment.
