NIH SBIR/STTR Funding Webinar

Tuesday, Dec. 14th, 10 - 11 a.m. CT Kansas companies and researchers are doing amazing, innovative work to address
national bioscience challenges. As they do so, the Kansas Bioscience Authority
(KBA) and Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation (KTEC) are striving to
connect bioscience businesses and entrepreneurs with the resources and tools they
need to thrive. Federal funding from the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and the Small
Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs provide critical support in the
commercialization process. To help Kansas companies compete more effectively for
this support, we are pleased to offer a series of informational webinars that will
connect you directly with experts from the federal agencies providing SBIR and STTR
funding. Our next webinar will be held Tuesday, December 14th from 10 - 11 a.m. CT. and
you can join us from your office or anywhere else you have access to the Web! The KBA and KTEC's federal commercialization funding expert, Don Colbert, Ph.D., has arranged for us to hear from Dr. Lenka Fedorkova, Assistant Program Manager for the SBIR/ STTR programs at the NIH. Dr. Fedorkova has numerous responsibilities centered on providing resources and access to critical information to small business communities interested in obtaining federal funding and oversees commercialization assistance programs for current SBIR award recipients. She has a long‐standing interest in the biomedical innovation enterprise and over the years worked to develop and expand her knowledge of core issues that small businesses face. In this webinar, Dr. Fedorkova will discuss specific and general NIH priority areas of interest, current and anticipated NIH participation in omnibus solicitations, expansion and fast‐track program offerings, and any Phase III assistance that may be available. A discussion of potential future program evolution will also be provided. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
