BACKGROUND:
Prior to 2012-13, the District rented approximately 3950 sq. ft. of space at the Watsonville Center to Ceiba
Charter School. In 2012-13 Ceiba moved to the Pajaro Valley Unified School District’s premises
previously being used for its Adult Education Program, and the PVUSD Adult Ed program leased the
Watsonville Center space which previously housed Ceiba. The PVUSD Adult Ed program would like to
renew its lease for the 2013-14 year. The leased space is 3950 square feet @$3,333/per month, or $0.84 per
square foot, including utilities and janitorial. Staff recommends a one year lease renewal for the PVUSD’s
Adult Education Program.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$39,996 in gross revenue for 2013-14.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the Governing Board authorize the Vice President,
Administrative Services to renew a one year lease with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District Adult Ed
Program.
