Shoreline & Coastal Processes
This is what’s left of the trestle for the Santa Cruz - Garfield Park and
Capitola Electric Railway. The old wooden posts typically show up in
the winter time as big waves erode the sand.

Construction begins on the Palo Alto...
The Palo Alto stayed on the dock in Oakland for ~10yrs until she was purchased by the
Seacliff Amusement Co of Nevada in 1929. Then she was brought to Seacliff State
Beach as an amusement craft in 1930; an arcade, dance hall, dining room and
swimming pool were built. Front half of ship closes in 1958, ship closes after storms of
1978, damages again in 1982 and 1983.
