Support the health and wellness of the campus community
Act as public health resource for campus community
Unit Description: Student Health Services assists students in achieving their academic and personal goals
by supporting optimal physical, emotional, and psychological wellness. The program is primarily funded
by the health fee, currently $19/semester, and is a mandated service (Education Code Section 76355).

Provide diagnostic and treatment services for acute injuries and illnesses
Provide brief interventional therapy for psychological issues
Teach self-care and preventive health information and skills to students
Perform basic laboratory testing, provide over-the-counter and prescription medications, refer
for radiologic testing
Refer students to community providers for chronic and/or severe physical and mental health
issues
Offer screening for common physical and mental health conditions
Provide crisis support
Offer reproductive health services for men and women including STI testing and treatment, birth
control, pregnancy tests, emergency contraception, and pap tests
Provide TB testing, immunizations and physical exams required for employment, Allied Health
programs, and university transfer
Supply health informational brochures
Provide first aid to students, employees and visitors in the Health Center
