What are the consequences of
meeting Need I?
Higher education exposes people to
diversity and it gives factual information
about issues like immigration and
terrorism. Teaching people at a high
school level makes it easier to eliminate
biased perceptions.
Spring 2007 Semester - Digital
Bridge Academy
24
What are the consequences of
meeting Need II?
Helping immigrants assimilate to the
American culture would make it easier for
them to contribute to the U.S. Learning the
U.S. language, laws, and traditions would
help immigrants and U.S. citizens to live
together peacefully.
Spring 2007 Semester - Digital
Bridge Academy
25
What are the consequences of
meeting Need III?
Naturalizing illegal immigrants and allowing
them to become legal will encourage
serenity in the U.S.
Spring 2007 Semester - Digital
Bridge Academy
26
Consequences of not meeting
Need I
Ignoring the need to eliminate prejudice
beliefs would encourage racism. Not
eliminating negative perceptions on
immigration will also cause deeper fears
among U.S. citizens toward immigrants.
Spring 2007 Semester - Digital
Bridge Academy
27
Consequences of not meeting
Need II
Not helping illegal immigrants to adapt to
their new lives will cause deeper confusion
and frustration between immigrants and
U.S. citizens.
Spring 2007 Semester - Digital
Bridge Academy
28
Consequences of not meeting
Need III
Illegal immigration will not seize to exist.
Illegal immigrants will still live in the U.S.
working and driving illegally.

Immigration/Terrorism: Solutions
Propose a high school pop-culture class
that informs students about what foreign
cultures have contributed to the U.S.
To propose mandatory English workshops
to job sites that have non-English
speaking workers.
For undocumented workers to become
naturalized.
Spring 2007 Semester - Digital
Bridge Academy
31
Solution 1: Education
To educate people on the true facts about
immigration and terrorism. Our pop culture
class will hopefully change people’s
perception about how immigration and
terrorism are related.
Spring 2007 Semester - Digital
Bridge Academy
32
Solution 2: English Workshops
Have agricultural employers offer mandatory
English workshops on weekends so that
their workers who don’t speak English
have the opportunity to learn.
Spring 2007 Semester - Digital
Bridge Academy
33
Solution 3: Legalize Illegal
Immigrants
Sign petitions, call senators, and encourage
legalization for illegal immigrants.

Spring 2007 Semester - Digital
