Dear Carolyn,
I wanted to let you know we have made some small adjustments to our transfer guides for your
school. I attached the new versions for your records and hopefully they will be posted on our
website in the next week or two.
The first change I would like to note is that our Psychology major has changed its math requirement
this year (again), but this time it will really benefit the transfers interested in attending SCU. Statistics
is definitely one of the two math courses they will need to complete for a Psychology major at our
school (the other can be Finite Math or the first term of Calculus). Bachelor of Social Science
students only need one math course to satisfy the minimum requirement for admission, so
prospective Psychology majors only need to take Statistics (for admission). I have noted this on the guide.
Another item is that our Liberal Studies (pre-teaching) requirements have changed a bit and they
now require students to take Statistics for their major. I have also noted that on the Liberal Studies
transfer guide.
On the Engineering transfer guide, we have made a note to the Natural Science Admission
requirement concerning Web Design and Engineering majors. They do not require Chemistry or
Physics for this major, so students wishing to pursue this degree can take any approved lab science
and those courses to choose from are now on their guide.
Finally, I have added a notation to the guides specifying that students may only receive credit for
their Cultures and Ideas III requirement provided they have taken courses that meet our Cultures and
Ideas I and II first. This note can be found next to the Cultures and Ideas III section of each guide.
