17A/17AH or PS 1/1H for admission into a credential program.
CSU GRADUATION REQUIREMENT IN U.S. HISTORY, CONSTITUTION and AMERICAN IDEALS: It is recommended that students complete these courses
prior to transfer. Cabrillo College will double count these courses in Area 4 for purposes of Certification. Some CSU's may not honor this double
count and the student may be required to take 2 additional Area 4 courses upon transfer to the CSU.

Foreign Language Requirement (1 course if not met in high school --UC only)
Proficiency equivalent to two years of high school study of the same foreign language or one semester of college
study of a foreign language is required. Foreign Language courses taken in high school may not be counted under
AREA 3 --Humanities. The following languages are offered at Cabrillo College: American Sign Language, French,
German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish
***Multicultural Requirement (3 units) -AA requirement only*** (not required for AA-T/AS-T)
One course must be taken in Multicultural Studies. Select a course from any area, which is marked # or WS 5. This
area may be double counted.
• AA degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences: for students entering Cabrillo College beginning F'08, the Liberal Arts and Sciences degree
requires an 18 unit emphasis. Beginning F'14, this emphasis is limited to Interdisciplinary Studies (a combination of Areas A, B4, C and D
from the CSU list). The complete list of approved courses for this emphasis is listed in the current Cabrillo catalog.
• AA degree in a specific discipline: 18 units are required using ASSIST and the student's transfer requirements as a guide.
• AS degrees in Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, General Science, Geology, Mathematics or Physics: 30 units
are required using the catalog model program and ASSIST as a guide.
Courses may be used to satisfy both major/emphasis and general education requirements, but are only counted once for the total degree units.
AS OF F'10, ALL COURSES IN THE MAJOR OR EMPHASIS MUST BE COMPLETED WITH A "C" OR BETTER.
