III. PRESENTATION

A report for the Senate members who attended the annual Community College League of California.
Shannon : I won a TV!
Kristina : liked class about online education. Online education has been very effective in improving think we should push for more online classes at Cabrillo.
Leflora : There were only 15 people under 40.
James : favorite workshop was focused on increasing transfer rate of black students. Also interesting was automatic voter registration.
2. Report from the Statewide Student Senate Meeting 10 Minutes
A report of the events from the last Statewide Student Senate meeting, review of proposed models for
the new Statewide Student Senate, what needs to be done, and what is coming up.

IV. PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Our conduct in the office and in business needs to be more professional. Keep your emails respectful. Next article in The Voice is due Wednesday December 7 th . Our Treasurer resigned. It’s AIDS week, get tested to protect yourself and others.
V. REVIEW AND VOTE ON APPLICATIONS FOR NEW SENATORS

1. Conference James 3
Action on whether to allocate an additional $800, to total no more than $2,000 from the Student Rep account to send members of the Democrat Club to the Young Democrats of America Conference in
Phoenix AZ.
Motion to approve an additional 800 from the student rep account to total $2000 for the Democrat
club to go to the young democrats conference in Arizona.
Kristina : how many are going? A: 5
William : Could this be a loan? A: if this is a loan there will not be a Dem Club next year.
Chante : what happened to fundraising? A: This conference came up last minute, the logistics just came up to be more expensive than anticipated.
James : if I had known the cost before I may not have asked to go. In the month since hearing of this even tickets when up 100 dollars apiece.

Library in the Children's Center.

VII. INFORMATION
1. Update 5
Informational update on the Wireless Internet system and what is coming up in the feature. met with ray rider and mickey and bobby durham
17 grand per year was maintenance, authentication, ISP, tech support
Authentication will now be handled by CTC, Internet access will be provided by the school’s T3, CTC will handle maintenance. Tech support will need to be handled by 3 rd party hired by tech support. Costs are estimated at 4,400 per year.
Chris : computing resources is really enthused about this. They Want to set up more APs to provide better wireless coverage. Might be good in the future to fund software for security.

Information item on the Community College League of California Conference in January. No more than $5,000 from the Student Rep Account to this conference. A list of interested attendees will be formed, and action will be taken at the next meeting.

Information on making the Student Activity Card, one of our largest source of revenue, an
Opt Out Option instead of the Opt In Option like we currently have. If we change to an Opt Out
Option it is predicted that we will increase our revenue by a good amount. More information will be handed out at the meeting.
