My name is Martín Vargas-Vega and I will be running for the position of ASCC
Student Senate President. During my time at Cabrillo College I have been the president and
vice-president of the Organization of Latin Americans, as well as serving as a student senator
during the fall semester of 2013. I sat on the Cabrillo College and community wide visioning
workshop, where I was able to assist Cabrillo College in meeting the needs of its students and
the future of Cabrillo College. I feel that during my time here at Cabrillo College I have been
able to establish myself as a successful student, a leader in my community, and someone that
can help students at Cabrillo College have a better experience. I will help the student’s voices
be heard by the different governing boards at Cabrillo College and will continue to advocate
for student rights and run the student senate as efficiently and productively as possible.
