Age
The median age is lower than the mean age because there are relatively few older students, but the range
of older students' ages is very great, causing the mean age to be substantially higher than the median age.
The median indicates that half our students are 24 or younger and half were 24 or older (since Fall 2008).
The median is the preferred measure of central tendency for highly skewed distributions such as this.
Mode is the most frequently occurring age.

Associate in Arts (AA) and Associate in Science (AS) degrees fulfill local requirements for program completion.
AA or AS Transfer degrees include additional requirements for admission and transfer to the UC and CSU systems.
AA-T and AS-T degrees (new in 2011-12) are transfer degrees (also called SB 1440 or STAR degrees) that give priority admission to
certain CSU campuses.
[Shaded cells indicate no expectation of awards, as degrees are not presently offered .]

Certificates of Achievement require completion of 18 or more units, and are recorded on a student's academic transcript. Skills
Certificates are issued by the Department/Program, require fewer than 18 units, and are not recorded on a student's academic
transcript.
Numbers for prior years may exceed those reported in prior years, as some degrees and certificates are processed late.
This is not a complete list of possible awards; it is a count of awards earned by students during the current time period.

Unknowns were removed; this may result in totals not aligning with totals on other pages.
Students are only counted one time per degree type per academic year, regardless of number of awards earned.
Numbers for prior years may exceed those reported in prior years, as some degrees and certificates are processed after
reporting dates.

The survey for 2015 is based on responses from students who either completed their CTE
program in AY 2013-14 or left the program (no program enrollments since the start of calendar
year 2014) after prior completion of 7-10 program units. Prior years follow the same sampling
and surveying pattern.

Note: The hourly and annually earnings are adjusted for inflation using the most recent available Consumer Price Index for All Urban Workers (CPI-U) for each year that the survey
took place.
CPI Index= CPIYear/CPI2015 and then use this as a multiplier for the Hourly and Annually values.
Annual Income was calculated from hourly income when annual income was not reported, which included all 2015 values as the annual income question was not included in the
survey.
The annualincome was calculated based on the hours worked:.
Source: Cabrillo Career Technical Education (CTE) Student Follow-up Survey data collected 2004-2015. Survey data is based on responses from students who
completed or left their CTE program the prior academic year.
Notes: The median represents the wage distribution mid-point. Half the students surveyed earned more, and half earned less, than the median amounts shown.

For years 1998‐2010, the source of this data was the California Postsecondary Education Commission (CPEC). Starting with AY 2010‐11, the data is now provided by the UC and CSU systems via the CCC Chancellor's Office. Both UC and CSU use the community college where the student earned the most transferable units as the transfer institution.
Under‐represented includes Native Americans, African Americans, Latinos, Filipinos, and Pacific Islanders.

Notes:
Cabrillo students were matched with National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) Student Tracker enrollment
data, and are counted when the first four-year-institution enrollment record comes after the student has
accumulated at least 12 units at Cabrillo. Students with enrollments at multiple 4-year institutions were
counted at the first institution at which an enrollment was reported.
This counting method, known as "Transfer Volume", is similar to that employed by the Transfer Velocity
tool (CCCCO Data Mart). The definition includes a larger number of students than are counted as
transfers by the receiving institution as reported on the UC and CSU Transfer page.
The NSC data match was performed as recently as November 19, 2015, with data from prior
matches incorporated to achieve the most complete Cabrillo transfer dataset.
Under-represented excludes Asians and Whites. Non-respondents are divided among under-represented
or not, in proportion to the valid under-represented rate.
The decrease in transfers to the CSU segment that occurred in 2009-10 is mainly due to fewer transfers to
San Jose State University for that year, due to limits placed on tranfer admission.
