BOARD GOALS FOR 2011-12
1. Student Success will be the priority in determining:



Compensation and benefits for all employee groups that are sustainable and
comparable with best practice for similar organizations;
Staffing patterns that conserve resources to support student achievement;
Allocation of resources to creatively address student needs and increase
achievement of student goals.
2. The Board is committed to shared governance and values the timely
recommendations of the College Planning Council to inform board decisions.
3. The Board supports the development of a process that will result in a green,
paperless delivery of all Board materials to the members of the Governing Board,
the college community, and the public.
Working Draft of Classified and Confidential Task Force Proposal
Propose creation of a Task Force that will recommend to CPC a process to evaluate the
allocation of classified and confidential staff to address student needs and increase
achievement of student goals.
Possible composition of Task Force for discussion: A classified or confidential
representative from each of the four components of the college and a manager from
each of the four components for a total of eight members to the Task Force.

II. Secondary Effects: Bond Funded
Task: Move existing operations out of the 800 building to allow for the STEM (Grant/Bond) renovations. Additional offices/programs impacted will
be moved.
Guiding Principles:
1) Select new locations for any office or function impacted in order to continue to provide services to students, faculty, staff and community.
2) When possible, avoid multiple moves.
3) Identify spaces that can be repurposed at the lowest costs possible.
4) Assume that the new location for offices and functions could and likely will be the location for three to five years or more.
