Trustee Participation Guidelines for Membership on College Advisories, Committees or Community Organizations:
1) In order to provide an objective and impartial review of all college process, policy and decision-making, the Board of Trustee members are
advised not to participate on college advisories or committees as board members.
2) Any board member interested in a college advisory or committee can attend the meeting as a member of the public or can ask for an information
update from any committee or advisory that can be presented as information to the entire board. Board members interested in advisory or
committee actions can request minutes of meetings as well. This would be an information only request.
3) Board members who are contacted to be an active member of a college committee or advisory should contact the President.
4) Board members who are formally involved in outside committees or organizations as a representative of the Cabrillo College Governing Board
of Trustees must take that request to the board. Upon approval, the board will require a quarterly written report on the activities or actions
of the organization.
