Programs
Study, intern, or volunteer abroad as an ATID
major or minor! See the chart below to learn
when you may go abroad at the most
optimal time for your academic program.
Study Abroad
Enroll in coursework abroad that transfers back to your major or minor
requirements. Programs often have their own criteria, such as a higher GPA or a
language requirement, so you should read each program’s terms carefully.
Proficiency in another language is often unnecessary, so you could study in English,
even in non-English speaking places.
Consider an internship abroad to strengthen your resume! Companies value
intercultural skills and the ability to speak another language. Internships abroad
often are voluntary rather than paid, but financial aid and scholarships may help
defray costs if you earn credit.
Service-Learning Abroad
Give back to the world! Teach English in China, assist a women’s shelter in Morocco,
or help preserve native species in Costa Rica through a service-learning program.
