1. Apply for formal admittance by first creating an account at:
https://www.applyweb.com/apply/kstateg/
Select Create Your Account. This is a one-­‐
5me username and password specific to this Collegenet applica5on, so use something you will remember. You will then be asked to verify your email address for the ApplyWeb system before con5nuing the online applica5on. Kansas State University

2. Complete the appropriate personal, address, and demographic information *Note* At anytime you can bypass a field and continue filling out the online application by
selecting “next page”. You will receive the message below, which will allow you to return at a later
time to complete the appropriate information.
Click Postpone Data Valida5on to skip to the next step in the applica5on process. Please note that you cannot submit the applica5on un5l all fields have been completed. Kansas State University

3. Academic Information: Select the appropriate location for coursework.
Select “Distance-­‐Off Campus” if you are aKending classes via VTC from a Ft. Leavenworth classroom. Kansas State University

4. Program Selection: Arts and Sciences – Security Studies
Select ‘Arts and Sciences’ and choose ‘Security Studies’. Choose the semester for which you intend to enroll. If the term you plan to enroll is not available, choose the nearest semester in the list (The KSU Graduate School will alter it later). Kansas State University

5. Upload your Statement of Objectives and Writing Sample(s).

6. Insert Names and Email Addresses of Three References—Each reference will be
contacted by email and asked to submit a letter of recommendation.
*NOTE –If you are applying for the August deadline and had an interview with a Security Studies Faculty member, you do not have to submit references. We suggest lis5ng Dr. Stone, Dr. Long, and Dr. Polson as ‘dummy’ references so your applica5on may be completed. Kansas State University

6. Complete Education Information (Transcripts):
If you are unable to locate your school using the naviga5on tab provided, please type in the name of your school. If you can provide unofficial electronic copies of your transcript, upload them at this 5me. Please choose “Yes” that your transcripts have been sent to K-­‐state (see next page for details on submi\ng official transcripts). Kansas State University

6. Complete Education Information (Transcripts, cont.):
1. Contact the ins5tu5on(s) where you completed your undergraduate coursework and request that two official transcripts be sent directly to: Security Studies Kansas State University 221 Eisenhower Hall ManhaKan, KS 66506 www.k-­‐state.edu/securitystudies/ *NOTE*-­‐-­‐You may be granted provisional admission with an unofficial transcript, but the KSU Graduate School requires an official transcript for full admission. 2. 6. Complete Education Information (Standardized Tests):
*NOTE The GRE is NOT required for Master’s applicants, but you may submit your scores here if you have taken it within the last five years. Please have your official scores sent to K-­‐state as well. There is no specific program code for Security Studies. Use the general K-­‐State code (6334). Kansas State University

7. Complete Employment information, then finalize, submit and pay the
application fee.
8. Please contact the Security Studies office (securstu@ksu.edu or
785-532-3786) to inform us that your complete application is submitted.
*NOTE*- You will only be able to finalize and submit if ALL documents are attached
and all required information is entered.
