AU 2030 FACULTY RETREAT GLOBAL ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL GOVERNANCE PROJECT SUMMARY The Global Economic and Financial Governance project seeks to develop greater expertise in the study of national, regional, and international institutions, laws, standards and other means to manage the powerful economic and financial forces that have driven the globalization process. These issues are increasing in importance in the wake of the 2008-09 global economic and financial crises, the subsequent debacle in Europe’s periphery, and the rise of new powers in Asia (China and India) and Latin America (Brazil and Mexico). Global governance problems and solutions are at the intersection of economics, finance, international relations, law, and political science. By harvesting synergies between our faculty and scholars worldwide, including practitioners at think tanks and global institutions, SIS can generate meaningful intellectual and programmatic output, and pioneer a learning center in economic and financial governance.
