Model of Instrument of Accession – (Geneva, 1992) For use by a State that is not a Member of the International Telecommunication Union, but is a Member of the United Nations, after the entry into force of the ITU Constitution and Convention (Geneva, 1992) or1 [STATE OF ...........................] [GOVERNMENT OF ...................................] Instrument of Accession to the Constitution of the International Telecommunication Union (Geneva, 1992) and to the Convention of the International Telecommunication Union (Geneva, 1992) Whereas on 22 December 1992, the Member States of the International Telecommunication Union participating in the Additional Plenipotentiary Conference (Geneva, 1992) signed the ITU Constitution and Convention, the Plenipotentiary Conferences (Kyoto, 1994; Minneapolis, 1998; Marrakesh, 2002; Antalya, 2006; Guadalajara, 2010) have adopted amendments to the ITU Constitution and Convention, which entered into force on 1 January 1996, 1 January 2000, 1 January 2004, 1 January 2008 and 1 January 2012 respectively, and whereas ____________________2 is not a Member State of the International Telecommunication Union, but is nevertheless qualified, as a Member State of the United Nations, to accede to the above-mentioned Constitution and Convention, in accordance with Articles 2 and 53 of the Constitution, We/I1,3 ______________________ declare, by virtue of this single Instrument, that ______________________2: – accedes to the above-mentioned Constitution and Convention as amended4 and undertakes to abide faithfully by all of the provisions contained therein; – chooses the ___________ unit class of contribution for defraying the expenses of the Union, in accordance with Article 28 of the Constitution and Article 33 of the Convention.
