Critical Language Scholarships are offered for beginning, intermediate and/or advanced level summer language programs. U.S. citizenship required. Students in all disciplines are encouraged to apply. E-mail meritawards@american.edu to be added to the CLS Blackboard site. (The Office of Merit Awards does not offer individual advising for this scholarship.) Now Scheduling Advising Appointments The SIS Graduate Advising office is now scheduling 30 minute student appointments through the end of the fall semester. Unlike Express Advising, appointments allow for more in-depth advising conversations, including longer-term course/degree planning. We particularly encourage first semester students to consider meeting with their advisor if they have not already. Appointments are available in-person or via phone or Skype, and can be scheduled by calling 202-8851690. The event will include an alumni panel discussion, moderated by SIS Assistant Professor Jordan Tama, and an off site networking hour for students, alumni and select DHS staff. This will be a great opportunity for graduate students to gain insight into one of the largest national security agencies in the country.
