NEW Open Positions for SIS Graduate Student Council (incl MA Task Force reps) The SIS Graduate Student Council (GSC), official representative of SIS graduate students within American University, is currently seeking nominations for the Vice President position and two student representatives to the SIS Task Force on MA Education. NEW Part Time Job Opportunity for Graduate Student - Undergraduate International Admissions The International Admissions team within the Undergraduate Admissions department of American University has a part-time job opening for one graduate student assistant. American University undergraduate alumni are requested. Graduate students interested in a one academic year commitment are preferred. Candidates must be able to commit 7.5 – 8 hours per week in the fall semester and 10 – 12 hours in the spring semester. Attention to detail, excellent time management, critical thinking, organizational, administrative, and written communications skills in English required. Demonstrated advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, data analysis experience are a must. An interest in learning more about international education and admissions is helpful too. The work is varied, fast paced, challenging, but fun as well! Second Summer Session Add/Drop deadlines Students registered for second summer session courses starting this week should make themselves aware of the summer Add/Drop dates, including the deadline to drop a course with a 100% refund and the last day to withdraw with a 'W'. Please be aware the Add/Drop period is generally shorter for summer courses. OVERDUE Apply to Graduate for Summer 2015 Students planning to complete all degree requirements in the Summer 2015 semester must apply to graduate via their myAU portal (under Academics – Apply to Graduate). Applications for summer 2015 were due June 1, so if you have not do so already, please apply for graduation ASAP. Students should receive a graduation eligibility confirmation email from the Graduate Advising office (to their AU email address)confirming all remaining requirements after their advisor has reviewed their graduation eligibility. Additional Methods Courses - Program Evaluation and International Policy Analysisadded for Fall 2015 Two additional methodology courses have been added to the fall 2015 Schedule of Classes: a second section of International Policy Analysis (SIS-750-002; in addition to SIS-750-001 Int'l Policy Analysis) and a second section of Program Evaluation (SIS-750-003; in addition to SIS-635-002 Program Design, Monitoring and Evaluation).
