Ms. Zinner's Notebook Guidelines All students are asked to keep a 3-ring binder for storing course materials. Materials for other courses may be kept in another part of the same large notebook. The math notebook should have tabbed dividers to separate it into the following four sections: 1. 2. 3. 4. General Info Warm-Ups Classwork/Class Notes Homework The contents of each section are described below. General Info - class policies, homework formatting and notebook guidelines, extra notebook and graph paper, etc. Warm-Ups - daily problems posted on the whiteboard Each day, during the first five minutes of class, put the date of the warm-up in the outside margin (the margin without holes in it), and then write the original problem and answer it. Box or highlight all answers. Leave 1 or 2 blank lines between warm-ups. Classwork/Class Notes - classwork and class notes in date order (starting w/September) Homework - assignment records, homework assignments Page order: Assignment Record (Chapter 1) homework #1 homework #2 . . homework #n Assignment Record (Chapter 2) homework #1 homework #2 . . homework #n etc. At the beginning of February, all warm-ups and homework from the first semester may be taken out of the notebook and stored safely at home. These should be saved for future reference and as study aids for the final exam. Class notes stay in the notebook throughout the entire school year.
