Financial Aid Information
Summer 2016
If you want to be considered for summer financial aid, please note the following:
•
If you are enrolled in the Spring 2016 semester, your eligibility for summer financial aid is contingent upon
meeting the requirements for satisfactory academic progress after review of your 2015/2016 grades.
Your application for summer financial aid cannot be processed until Spring 2016 grades are
posted. Therefore, you must arrange to pay for Summer I 2016 semester courses by the
tuition due date of Monday, May 16, 2016.

If you are not enrolled in the Spring 2016 semester, your financial aid will be packaged prior to the summer
semester tuition due date if your financial aid application is complete.

If your financial aid award is based on your enrollment in both summer sessions, aid (e.g., loans and grants)
will not be disbursed until after the end of the refund period for the second summer session. Financial aid
refunds for students enrolled in Summer I only will begin on June 30, 2016. Financial aid refunds for
Summer II will begin on July 21, 2016. You will receive an email when refunds have been processed.
Federal Pell Grant:
If you received full-time Pell grants for both the Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 semesters, you will not have any
Pell grant eligibility remaining for the Summer 2016 semesters.
Federal Direct (Student) Loans:
If you wish to apply for a federal student loan, you must be enrolled in at least 6 credits in the summer
session(s). If you are a first-time borrower, you must complete the required Entrance Counseling and
Federal Direct Loan Master Promissory Note at www.studentloans.gov. For annual loan limits, summer
is part of the 2015-16 aid year. If you have borrowed the maximum loan amount during the Fall 2015 and
Spring 2016 semesters, you will not have any loan eligibility remaining for the Summer 2016 semesters.
PHEAA State Grant:
To be considered for a PHEAA State grant, you must be enrolled in a total of at least 6 credits during the
Summer I and Summer II sessions. The length of your summer semester enrollment must be at least 10
weeks. Apply online (available mid-March) by August 15, 2016 at:

All students must complete the attached Request for Summer 2016 Financial Aid form and return it to the NCC
Financial Aid Office.
