STUDENT SENATE RESPONSIBILITIES
Student Senate shall consist of 15 members: 4 officers elected at the end of the Spring semester,
and 11 general members elected at the start of the Fall semester. Senate’s responsibility is to:






Allocate funding for Student Organizations
Recommend changes in College policy
Approve student representatives to college committees
Act for, and on behalf of, all NCC credit students
Attend bimonthly Student Senate meetings on Tuesdays during the mid-day period
Coordinate major events such as Quad Fest, Halloween Dance, Spartan Fest, Valentine’s
Day Dance, Arts Fest, and the Student Celebration

VOTING






Elections will be held online. You can vote at any computer with internet access
Polls open 8am Tuesday Sept. 15. Polls close 10pm Wednesday Sept. 16
Only credit students’ votes will be counted
Each student can only submit one vote per candidate
Election results will be announced: Friday September 18

ELECTION ETIQUETTE
 Candidates are not permitted to remove literature of their opponents and may be held
responsible for actions of their campaign team
 No lobbying may occur within 5 square feet of public polling
 Candidates are not permitted to speak to voters while they are voting
 All voting is held online. Persons who attempt to vote more than once will be
disqualified
 Each voter must currently be enrolled in credit classes
