If you are looking to start a career in museums and have the passion and motivation to keep
learning, then Norfolk Museums Service wants to hear from you.
As part of our nationally recognised Teaching Museum programme we are offering up to 8
Museum Traineeships as a stepping stone into the world of museums. These starter posts are
offered on a 12 months fixed term contract from April 2015 at a salary of £15,882. A range of

We will provide you with a training and development programme delivered by museum
professionals who are experts in their field. You'll be equipped with the information you need to do
a good job and the skills, knowledge and experience to pursue a career within the museum
sector. No previous museum experience is required but we are looking for higher level education
(A Levels or a degree), demonstrable interest in the museum sector and experience of working in
a public-facing, customer service type role.
We want trainees who will never stop learning, people with an inquisitive mind and lots of ideas,
who can act with integrity and demonstrate their excellent communication skills. Ultimately, we
are looking for people with a passion for museums and the enthusiasm and empathy to make
every visitor feel valued.
Does this sound like you? If so you can find out more about this opportunity by attending a briefing
session for potential applicants on Friday 9 or Saturday 10 January 2015, at Norwich Castle
Museum and Art Gallery. You will have the opportunity to find out more about the scheme, the
