Acceptance letters have started to arrive and will continue through April. If your acceptance letters say you must sign up for the EPT/ELM be sure to do so ASAP. Helpful Hints Transcripts: Colleges r equesting tr anscr ipts? See Ms. Bhoot in Guidance and fill out a Transcript Request Form. Cal Grants: Students who submitted their FAFSA on time may r eceive an email fr om the CA Student Aid Commission regarding their Cal Grant. Students must go to the link posted inside the email and create their web account or go straight to https://mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov. The Cal Grant web account will allow students to see their Cal Grant award and make any changes necessary to their school of choice. Financial Aid Money Students must check their college portals and accounts regularly for financial aid updates. FAFSA applications were submitted to your colleges of choice and the financial aid packages will be awarded by the colleges. Check your to do list and Financial Aid section of your college portals for financial aid packages that may include Cal Grants, Pell Grants, University Grants, Loans, and Work Study. What happens now that I’ve submitted my FAFSA? You’ll receive your Student Aid Report (SAR). It can take up to four weeks. The SAR contains the federal calculation of your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) figure, which is a preliminary estimate of the amount your family can contribute to college costs. Your EFC is used to determine eligibility for federal and state financial aid, as well as for institutional aid at some colleges. Read the entire SAR carefully to ensure that all of your information is correct. You may need to make corrections or provide additional information . If you have questions about your SAR, call the Federal Student Aid Information Center 800-433-3243. 1 The California State University (CSU) requires you to take the English Placement Test (EPT) and the Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) exam prior to enrollment in the CSU. Your scores will determine which Math and English courses you should take to begin your career at CSU. You may be exempt from taking the EPT or ELM based on your scores earned on other appropriate tests such as the CSU's Early Assessment Program (EAP) tests in English and Mathematics, the SAT, ACT, or Advanced Placement (AP). Register for EPT/ELM @ https://ept-elm.ets.org/CSU/ Students may take the EPT/ELM at any CSU campus. The last date to take the EPT/ELM at CSU Fullerton is May 7, 2016.
