Internet in today's world has a drastic far reaching changes from the early internet. The 3D internet is ready to take the place of 2D internet. It is a virtual world which effectively reaches the internet users, which makes them to stay online with an intensive level of interest. The whole world is waiting for this technology to be introduced in web 3.0.In this paper we are going give information about the architecture, advantages, applications of 3D internet. Keyword: World Wide Interactive, Engaging, 3D Internet. Web(WWW), Internet, 2D INTRODUCTION: The next generation of the present 2D web is the 3D Internet which is interconnection of services. 3D uses same basic technology, components and will interact with the same servers as that of traditional browser. The present Graphical User Interface(GUI) is a two dimensional, hence the internet is 2D.The use of the 3-dimensional GUI, makes the internet effective to the business customers and the students. 3D Internet is a powerful combination of two factors, internet and 3D Graphics, which results in great 3D experience which reflects the real life activities. Compared to the 2D internet, apart from the use of 3D computer graphics and personalized ISSN: 2231-5381 dr.dvashoka@ymail.com avatars, it provides much more social experience, so that, you are able to know the other people who are reading the same document which you are reading. Initially, concentration was more towards the general internet HTML compared to 3D internet. In 1995, Virtual Reality Markup language was introduced. The Virtual Reality Markup Language(VRML) is a standard file format for representing 3-dimensional(3D) interactive vector graphics, designed particularly with the World Wide Web .The first version of VRML was poised in November, 1994. The latest and functionally complete version of VRML is VRML97. It is a text file format which specifies vertices and edges for a 3D polygon along with the surface color, UV mapped textures, shininess, transparency, and so on. VRML files are commonly called "worlds" and have the *.wrl extension. Many 3D modeling programs can save objects and scenes in VRML format. The main reason for the drawback of VRML is insufficient availability of bandwidth for the users. VRML has been superseded by standard X3D. The Web3D Consortium has been formed to further the collective development of the X3D. VRML have been accepted as international standards by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). X3D is the standard file format for representing 3D computer graphics and has extension *.x3d, *.x3db, *.x3dv. The X3D works different web browsers with different operating systems. As http://www.ijettjournal.org Page 143 International Journal of Engineering Trends and Technology (IJETT) - Volume 35 Number 4 - May 2016 X3D is integrated with new internet language HTML5 and other XML versions, it is most liable to become the standard for 3D on internet in future. ARCHITECTURE: The 3d internet shares the principles with its precursor that includes open protocols, easiness of network core, open and flexible architecture, capacity of mind. Usage of beams helps to move between the independent worlds or services for the user. The figure above shows the architecture of 3D internet and its network components, which has two parts namely the Core and the Access Network. The core is a combination Wide Area Network(WAN) and Metropolitan Area Network(MAN) where WAN is a telecommunications network, that extends over a large geographical distance and MAN is a network that interconnect user with resources in geographic area larger than that covered by Local Area Network(LAN) but smaller than area covered by Wide Area Network(WAN). A router or a gateway connects Local Area Networks to form a larger internet, by selectively passing those datagrams having a destination IP address to the network which is able to deliver them to their destination. Optical Line transmission establishes connections for the ISSN: 2231-5381 computers.GE-PON is a broadband network solution using optical medium to connect OLT. The Optical Connectivity Feedback Network communicates with Internet Protocol Network(IP Network).Fast access across network is done by DWA-PON Controller(Dynamic Wavelength Allocation Network-Passive Optical Network). The figure below shows the Internet architecture introduced by Alpcan et al. It shares principles and underlying architecture of the current Internet as well as many web concepts. The functions of components briefly. are explained World servers: It facilitates formed, static and active contended 3D environment to the user or administrator. It coordinates the connected users. They also provide various services such as emails, uploading, instant messaging etc. Avatar/ID servers: An Avatar is personalized graphical illustration that represents a computer user or a character. Avatar/ID servers can be part of world servers. It provides privacy and security for world servers and individual servers. http://www.ijettjournal.org Page 144 International Journal of Engineering Trends and Technology (IJETT) - Volume 35 Number 4 - May 2016 Universal Location Server: Ecosystems: It is same as Domain Name Service(DNS).It is used for virtual management and provides virtual geographical information. Stimulation standards, such as 3D browser standards, identity are opposite. It is the ability to hand over united and spontaneous experiences of user on many devices such as laptops, tablets and so on. Clients: Caching, network and a 3D functions are required to run programs like browsers on a user system. Additional softwares are required to support 3D function in client system. Uprising of new tools and software development kits are awaited. The management of multiple identities: Each individual is indentified uniquely by in the virtual world. Here, the conditions and aspect of self are incrementally made objective. TECHNICAL CHALLENGES: Every 3D environment has its own currency system. Second life translates Linden dollars. Web applications such as e-Bay, Amazon has their own money systems. Platform Performance: It faces the challenges like FP intensive client/server, constant bandwidth and low latency. Low latency is due to high graphics, so the network has to be designed with the awareness of these challenges. The performance of can be increased by using the PC with 20x GPU and 3XCPU. Monetizing of virtual assets: Applicable rules or privatization of “digital avatars”: Privacy is one of the main prominent values in the report. In all western society, privacy is the most basic human rights and also an essential precondition for introducing other human rights. User created contents (UCC): Portability across worlds, Easy-to-use tools, Realistic rendering. Many tools are used by the internet user to create this online content. These tools for content creation must be provided freely Speed: Connection speed is the main glitch that are often faced by 3D internet technology. Many countries in the world are trying to meet the network requirements which are needed for 3D network. Simulation services: Dense avatar measures, diverse client styles, Unified graphics or physics. Both server and client can carry out the simulation service. Tools and models must be accepted by both of them. ISSN: 2231-5381 Visualization and Interfaces: Visualization and interfacing is the main problem of 3D internet. Devices that are used to reach the goals are PET’s and PARTS. PET’s are able to create holographic imaginary and PARTS make up an current trend of today’s multimedia vision glass, involving them in practical world. http://www.ijettjournal.org Page 145 International Journal of Engineering Trends and Technology (IJETT) - Volume 35 Number 4 - May 2016 NEEDS OF 3D INTERNET: Till now, we might have faced 2 problems slow computers and slow connections. As it takes long time to compute the 3D content and could ran very slowly resulting in poor quality of graphics. All these issues can be overcome by 3D internet technology. Although the 3D internet uses the same technology and components with same servers when compared to traditional internet, the 3D internet is incredibly more social. As it allows the control throughout the virtual environment to the user. Content are readily available. The 3D technology provides more interactive environment that is it provide more comfort level when compared to 2D. The representation of 3D images are effortless and yet effective. Provides increased bandwidth availability when compared to traditional technology. Facilitates the increased processor speed (1GHz and beyond) and graphics accelerators. Capable of contributing fast, excellence graphics. The major contrast between 2D and 3D is the virtual reality and virtual world. A virtual world is also called massively multiplayer online world (MMOW) is a computer-based simulated environment. Many users who can create a personal avatar, independently explore the virtual world, and can participate in its activities and communicate with others. These avatars can be textual, two or three-dimensional graphical representations, or live video avatars with auditory and touch sensations. In general, virtual worlds allow for multiple users. Virtual reality or virtual realities (VR), also known as immersive multimedia or computer-simulated reality, which is a computer technology. It replicates an environment, real or imagined, and simulates a user's physical presence and environment that allows the user to interact with it. ISSN: 2231-5381 One can even watch online 3D movie/videos via 3D internet with no buffering time. It also presents other amenities like virtual meeting, support groups, academics, training chats and shopping.3D internet offers multi users to access the same documents. APPLICATIONS: E-health Networks: More and more people concern for wellness and want to be free from disease. Hence for the healthy lifestyle there is a need for the delivery of easy to use, safe and without any trouble in use systems to support the management. wireless sensor network are useful tools which are applied in many areas such as industry, healthcare, sports, emergency management and entertainment. 3D internet, Digital cinema and UHD(ultra high definition): QoE (Quality of Experience) evaluation of the 3D content, 4K and 3D video streaming system and Distributed Virtual Museum(DVM) are the three applications have been developing in the 3D internet ,digital cinema and UHD. DVM is supported by the others in providing streaming services. E-learning and Social Networks: Evaluation of the learning process is done by Computer Aided knowledge/skill Assessment system(CAA), which is a E-learning application. To improve the quality of distance and communication, technologies are applied in the education domain since they provide a way to perform experiment with equipment that is not physically present in the place, as the user. http://www.ijettjournal.org Page 146 International Journal of Engineering Trends and Technology (IJETT) - Volume 35 Number 4 - May 2016 the user with the highly natural interaction with the internet environment which is richer in content and more diverse than ever. Inspite of great importance to the 3D hardware, 3D standards for the internet have not been launched. Thus the progress of more advanced research in various aspects of 3D internet is highly essential.
