Under the direction of the Grammy Award winning Music Director Robert Page, the choir is renowned for its versatility of repertoire. The choir has traveled with the Symphony to Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, has toured internationally and presents an annual concert series. Major improvements in staging shows, including electrical supply, new stage lighting, load-in elevators, reinforced stage superstructure and new dressing rooms, have been completed. But, the audience will be more visually aware of improvements in the auditorium that include, total renovation of the seats, new carpeting, new painted walls, and (the audience favorite), air conditioning. These improvements will make Orr Auditorium one of the most beautiful in this area and will give the college the capability of staging the large-scale musicals and shows touring the country today. The auditorium will meet the challenge of being the cultural center of our community and region. John Pizzarelli and his trio wowed our audience several years ago. He is hailed by critics for his brilliant guitar work and smooth vocals, in the Sinatra tradition. His song “Over The Rainbow” is generally recognized as one of top songs of the 20th century. Many of Arlen’s hit songs will be sung by Faith Prince and Tom Wopat. This multimedia program will also feature behind the scene clips from the making of “The Wizard of Oz,” for which Arlen wrote the music. Faith Prince remains one of the top female performers on the Broadway stage. Since his appearance here seven years ago, Tom Wopat has starred in Annie Get Your Gun, 42nd Street, and is currently starring in Chicago. International star Ben Vereen presents a night of favorite Sammy Davis, Jr. songs as well as hit songs from his own Broadway shows. Mr. Vereen’s marvelous dancing will also be part of the show. Mr. Vereen has performed on Broadway, the concert stage, TV and movies. He won a Tony Award for his role in Pippin on Broadway. He has appeared in straight dramas on stage, the award winning TV series Roots, movies such as All That Jazz and the showroom and theater stages in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Europe and Asia. SEASON SUBSCRIPTIONS Renewals Patrons who held season subscriptions for the 2003-04 season and did not yet return their advance renewal form, must renew by June 1, 2004, in order to retain their seats. Patrons who wish to change seat location should so indicate on their order form. We cannot guarantee any subscription seating changes due to patron renewals. Best available seating will be assigned based on the number of uninterrupted years subscribed. New Patrons New Patrons’ season subscription orders will be filled, after all renewals are finalized, in the order in which they are received.
