Summary: Attached please find the relationships of ITU-T Study Group 17 with ISO, IEC or ISO/IEC JTC 1. TSB Note: Rapporteurs are invited to review the status of the relationship for their Question and report on any necessary changes. In response to WTSA-12 Resolution 7, Collaboration with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and to an earlier TSAG request (see 9.1/TSAG R 26, January 2008), SG17 maintains a table that lists SG17 relationships with Technical Committees (TCs) of ISO and IEC and Subcommittees (SCs) of ISO/IEC JTC 1. Attention is drawn to the last column (level) which identifies the nature of the relationship as follows: Level 1: joint work (e.g., common texts or twin texts) Level 2: technical collaboration by liaison mechanism Level 3: informational liaison Table 1 - Relations among ITU-T Study Group 17 and ISO, IEC and ISO/IEC JTC 1 SG Question Title ISO, IEC Level 17 Q1 Telecommunication/ICT security coordination JTC 1/SC 27 2&3 17 Q2 Security architecture and framework JTC 1/SC 27 1&2 17 Q3 Telecommunication information security management JTC 1/SC 27 1&2 17 Q4 Cybersecurity JTC 1/SC 27 JTC 1/SC 38 ISO TC215 2 2 3 17 Q5 Countering spam by technical means JTC 1/SC 27 2 17 Q6 Security aspects of ubiquitous telecommunication services JTC 1/SC 6 JTC 1/SC 27 JTC 1/SC 31 IEC TC57 IEC TC65 ISO TC204 1&2 2 3 3 3 3 17 Q7 Secure application services JTC 1/SC 6 JTC 1/SC 25 JTC 1/SC 27 JTC 1/SC 31 ISO TC68 SC2 2 2 2 3 3 17 Q8 Cloud computing security JTC 1/SC 27 JTC 1/SC 38 1&2 3 17 Q9 Telebiometrics JTC 1/SC 17 JTC 1/SC 27 JTC 1/SC 37 ISO TC12 ISO TC215 IEC TC25 3 1&2 1&2 2 2 2 17 Q10 Identity management architecture and mechanisms JTC 1/SC 27 JTC 1/SC 38 ISO TC68 1&2 2 2 -2- SG Question Title ISO, IEC 17 Q11 Generic technologies to support secure applications JTC 1 JTC 1/SC 6 JTC 1/SC 7 JTC 1/SC 27 JTC 1/SC 31 JTC 1/SC 37 JTC 1/SC 38 ISO TC46 ISO/TC154 ISO TC215 ISO TC204 ISO TC247 IEC TC3 IEC TC57 1 1 1 2&3 2&3 2 3 2 3 2 3 2 2 2 17 Q12 Formal languages and telecommunication software and testing JTC 1/SC 7 JTC 1/SC 22 1&3 1&3 Table 2 - Mentioned IEC TCs, ISO TCs and ISO/IEC JTC 1/SCs IEC Title IEC TC3 Information structures, documentation and graphical symbols IEC TC25 Quantities and units, and their letter symbols IEC TC56 Dependability IEC TC57 Power systems management and associated information exchange IEC TC65 Industrial-process measurement, control and automation ISO Title ISO TC12 Quantities, units, symbols, conversion factors ISO TC46 Information and documentation ISO TC68 Financial services ISO TC204 Intelligent transport systems ISO TC215 Health informatics ISO TC247 Fraud countermeasures and controls ISO TC 292 Security ISO/IEC JTC 1 Title JTC 1/SC 6 Telecommunications and information exchange between systems JTC 1/SC 7 Software and systems engineering JTC 1/SC 17 Cards and personal identification JTC 1/SC 22 Programming languages, their environments and system software interfaces JTC 1/SC 27 IT Security techniques JTC 1/SC 31 Automatic identification and data capture techniques JTC 1/SC 37 Biometrics JTC 1/SC 38 Distributed Application Platforms and Services (DAPS) Level -3- Table 3 - List of ISO Committees in formal liaison with ITU-T Reference Title Type JTC 1 Information technology A TC8/SC6 Navigation and ship operations B TC12 Quantities and units A TC36 Cinematography B TC37 Terminology and other language and content resources B TC46 Information and documentation A TC68/SC7 Core banking A TC159/SC4 Ergonomics of human-system interaction A TC204 Intelligent transport systems A TC215 Health informatics A TC247 Fraud countermeasures and controls A CASCO Committee on conformity assessment A JTC 1/SC 2 Coded character sets A JTC 1/SC 25 Interconnection of information technology equipment A JTC 1/SC 27 IT Security techniques A JTC 1/SC 29 Coding of audio, picture, multimedia and hypermedia information A JTC 1/SC 31 Automatic identification and data capture techniques A JTC 1/SC 32 Data management and interchange A JTC 1/SC 37 Biometrics A JTC 1/SC 38 Distributed application platforms and services (DAPS) A JTC 1/SC 6 Telecommunications and information exchange between systems A JTC 1/SC 7 Software and systems engineering A Notes: Liaisons A: Organizations that make an effective contribution to the work of the technical committee or subcommittee for questions dealt with by this technical committee or subcommittee.
