Subject: Twelfth meeting of the Telecommunication Development Advisory Group (TDAG),
Geneva, 18-20 April 2007 and Fifth Meeting of the TDAG Working Group dealing with Private
Sector issues (WGPS), Geneva, 16-17 April 2007
Dear Sir / Madam,
Upon taking office in Geneva, on 16 January, I took the decision to postpone the 12th Meeting of the
Telecommunication Development Advisory Group (TDAG), in order to have sufficient time to
present TDAG with a new proposal for the organizational structure and working methods of the
Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT). This will better equip the sector to face the new
challenges and enhanced mandate emanating from the World Telecommunication Development
Conference (WTDC), World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) and Plenipotentiary (PP)
Conferences.
I intend to develop a suitable strategy for the implementation of the 25 newly approved Regional
Initiatives for submission for your consideration.
With the agreement of Chairpersons of the TDAG and Working Group dealing with Private Sector
issues (WGPS), I have the pleasure of inviting you to ITU headquarters on the following dates:
16-17 April 2007 at 9:30 hours, Room B: Working Group on Private Sector issues
18-20 April 2007 at 9:30 hours, Room B: Telecommunication Development Advisory Group.
I hope to count on your presence at these important meetings and apologize for the inconvenience
it may have caused.

Visa information
We would like to remind you that citizens of certain countries are required to obtain a visa in order to enter
and spend time in Switzerland. The visa must be requested and obtained from the office (embassy or
consulate) representing Switzerland in your country or, if there is no such office in your country, from the one
that is closest to the country of departure. If problems are encountered, the Union can, at the official request
of the administration you represent, approach the competent Swiss authorities in order to facilitate delivery of
the visa. Any such request must be submitted using the letterhead, address and signature of your supervisor,
specifying the name and functions of the individual(s) for whom the visa(s) is/are requested, along with the
name of the meeting, providing the birthdate(s) and passport details, and accompanied by a copy of the
approved registration form for the ITU conference or meeting in question and a copy of the passport(s).
Confirmation by fax will be provided to the person making the official request (between three and fifteen
days).
In the meantime, participants may wish to consider their accommodation requirements in Geneva. For this
purpose your attention is invited to the ITU web site at http://www.itu.int/travel/index.html which provides
details on Hotel reservations in Geneva.
