The Lewis Global Studies Center presents a Global Salon:
Disappearing Christianity in the Middle East:
Analyzing the Scholarly and
Policy Response
The precipitous decline of ancient, indigenous Christian communities
throughout the Middle East over the past decade is threatening to erase a
civilizational presence that stretches over millennia, while also creating a
humanitarian crisis of epidemic proportions. This talk explores myths that
have operated to shape perceptions about Middle East Christians, and reviews
the empirical realities of Christians at risk in the contemporary Middle East.
