Deafness Cognition and Language Research Centre (DCAL) University College London Post: Executive Function researcher JOB SPECIFICATION Liaise with Gary Morgan and researchers to analyse EF and language data Write up research for publication Present findings at conferences Ensure compliance with UCL, ESRC, and UKDA data protection and ethics policies Interact with researchers and administrative staff across all DCAL research strands. Appreciate and respect the confidential nature of relevant matters and materials Attend staff meetings and training as required Maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health & Safety Regulations Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading as requested by the line manager or DCAL Directors PERSON SPECIFICATION 1. Skills Highly computer literate with proficiency in manipulating Excel and spreadsheets or data bases Effective team player with excellent interpersonal skills Excellent face-to-face and written communication skills in order to communicate with DCAL research and administrative staff Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and scrupulous in record keeping Excellent understanding of Executive Function skills in deaf children Knowledge of British Sign Language would be an advantage 2. Aptitude Able to manage projects Able to work independently and as part of a team Have excellent time management and prioritisation skills, and be able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision 3. Qualifications A PhD in Psychology 4. Experience Experience in project management Experience in research methods Experience with cognitive and/or language data Experience with video data Experience of using data archives or knowledge of data preparation/processing Experience of handling sensitive and confidential data Practical experience of handling social science research data and data analysis using data manipulation packages
