Connections Fund Application Smith College Committee on Faculty Compensation & Development The purpose of the Connections Fund is to make available to untenured, tenure-track faculty members and postdoctoral fellows a fund to supplement other forms of faculty development. It is designed to bring to Smith established scholars working in the same field as the requesting faculty member for the purpose of a guest lecture, panel discussion, or other appropriate intellectual exchange. This fund is designed to advance the scholarly work of new faculty members and to increase familiarity in the campus scholarly community with the kind of research done by newer Smith faculty members. Please note that eligible faculty members are allowed a total of $2,500 each in Connections Funds during the whole of their probationary period, with no single award to exceed $1,000.
