Odegard is an Associate Professor in the Department o Mechanical Engineering Engineering Mechanics, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering frem the University of Colorado at Boulder, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Denver. . - .i• • - T urs ay, ept. 3 He received the 2008 Ferdinand P. Beer and E. Russell Johnston Jr. Outstanding New Mechanics Educator Award (awarded by the American Society of Engineering Education), the 2008 Outstanding Graduate Mentor Award (awarded by the Michigan Tech Graduate Student Council), the 2006 HJE Reid Award (awarded by NASA Langley Research Center), and the 2005 BoeingISDM Best Paper Award (awarded by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers).
