Sample turnaround times must improve. Some staffing problems during evaluation period. Gary
to attend time management training.
Gary needs to conduct on-the-job training for some fire assay staff. Gary to be given some
assistance with training if required.
Employee's comments:
Staff turnover has been high during evaluation period and with large contracts new staff has not been able
to keep up with demands. Equipment failures have lead to lower sample throughputs. Lack of enough
cupellation furnaces has lead to sample backlogs. The Fire Assay Section is also under-staffed.
Line manager’s comments:
Gary should be able to keep up with sample throughput with the staff and equipment he has in the section
if his time management issues were resolved.
Senior management’s
comments:
Senior management to counsel Gary on time management issues. Need to resolve quality control problems
within the section.
