News cutting from The Tribune dated 02/04/2016 related to National e-Governance Award conferred to HPTDC for implementing online hotel reservation system and innovative use of Information Communication Technology by the State Govt. of HP(Item added to Notice Board on 02/04/2016) HPTDC earns Rs 383 lakh profit Tribune news Service Shimla, April 1 The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has earned a gross profit of Rs 383.04 lakh while the net profit was Rs 181.89 lakh after depreciation of Rs 201.15 lakh for the year 2015-16 up to February, 2016. This was revealed during the meeting of Board of Directors, HPTDC, presided over by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh recently. The operational profit of the corporation for the last year was Rs 224.59 lakh and the net profit of Rs 19.72 lakh after wiping out previous year net losses of Rs 457.37 lakh. The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the corporation for the “national award on e-governance for the year 2015-16 and gold award” honour by the Government of India for implementing online hotel reservation system and innovative use of Information Communication Technology by the state government. The award was given by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to a joint team of the HPTDC and the NIC during the National E-Governance Conference held at Nagpur. All the non-official and official members presented the award certificate and a trophy to Virbhadra Singh. The award money share of the HPTDC amounting to Rs 28,571 was also donated to the Chief Minister Relief Fund. It was also revealed that Himachal Pradesh had been awarded “Better Holiday Awards 2016 for Triund (McLeodganj)” as best holiday destination by ‘Holiday IQ’ which would be presented on March 30 in New Delhi. The Chief Minister said new units Hotel Gauri Kund in Bharmour of district Chamba, Hotel Nupur in Nurpur of district Kangra and four Cottages at Kaza had been made functional. Further, the construction of 42 hotel rooms at Kasauli was in progress. It was also disclosed that the corporation has spent Rs 8.57 crore on re-furbishing of properties. In the fiscal 2016-17, around 15 properties had been proposed for renovation and a sum of Rs 3.50 crore would be spent on these. The Chief Minister stressed upon improving quality of service in the HPTDC units and said the infrastructure needed to be strengthened. He said that efforts were on to fill vacant posts. Employment to 37 officials had also been provided on contract basis, he added. One of the priorities was to release timely benefits to its employees and the corporation should ensure this, he added.
