Department of Chemistry PhD Studentship Professor Tim Jones PhD project: High Efficiency Multi-Junction Organic Solar Cells Supervisor: Professor Tim Jones Project description: A funded PhD studentship is available to work on the development of high efficiency multi-junction organic solar cells under the supervision of Professor Tim Jones. The project will involve using state-of-the-art techniques to fabricate novel organic solar cells using small molecule organic semiconductors, as well as the detailed characterisation and analysis of the materials and devices using a wide range of structural, electronic, electrical and optical techniques. The project is suited to a student with a background in chemistry, physics or materials science. Requirements: Applicants should have, or be expected to obtain, a Masters degree in chemistry, materials science or physics. Good communication skills in English are essential. The position gives a tax free stipend of approximately £13,500 per year and full funding for tuition fees.
