Biology—BS
The World is the
Classroom
Learning about the living world from
inside a classroom does not make
much sense. At Michigan Tech, your
classroom is all around you. Campus
is surrounded by diverse ecosystems
teeming with life—waters, forests,
and wetlands—which make perfect
outdoor teaching spaces. You will
have the opportunity to learn in upto-date labs and research facilities,
with access to some of the most
advanced technology in the industry.
From the smallest cells to the tallest trees, biology is the science of all life—
exploring how organisms function, their origins and evolution, and the ways
in which they interact with other living things and the environment.
At Michigan Tech, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences
means learning the basics of molecular, cellular, organismal, and ecological
levels of organization. You will take your knowledge and apply it to the real
world with innovative, hands-on laboratory investigations, field research,
and one-on-one work with faculty mentors.
With a strong, quantitative education in the chemistry, mathematics,
biochemistry, and physics of biological sciences, students are ready to
excel in whatever comes next—whether that is medical school, advanced
graduate work, or a career in industry.
