Spring 2007 Fraternity/Sorority Report Panhellenic/Interfraternity Council Panhellenic Council hosted a service event in partnership with the “Girls Go Tech” program through the Girl Scouts of America on March 3, 2007. Academics Fraternity men achieved a semester GPA 0.35 below the undergraduate men’s GPA (2.46 v. 2.81). Sorority women achieved a semester GPA 0.24 below the undergraduate women’s GPA (2.75 v. 2.99). Recruitment 52 undergraduate men joined 12 of the 13 fraternities in the Spring 2007 semester. 31 undergraduate women joined 8 of the 8 sororities in the Spring 2007 semester. Leadership & Involvement 11 undergraduate students representing 6 chapters were initiated into the Upsilon Sigma chapter of the Order of Omega. 4 students (2 representing the Interfraternity Council and 2 representing the Panhellenic Council) attended the Mid-American Greek Council Association (MGCA) Annual Conference in Chicago, IL in February 2007. Awards and Recognition Order of Omega Greek Leadership Honorary sponsored the 2006 All-Greek Awards Ceremony on April 17, 2007. Phi Kappa Tau was awarded Fraternity of the Year, and Delta Zeta was awarded Sorority of the Year. The following students were recognized through the “Greek Student of the Month” program: o Allen Crum, Beta Sigma Theta – January 2007 The following fraternity/sorority members were recognized at the Spring Student Awards Banquet on April 29, 2007. o Beth Molnar, Alpha Sigma Tau – President’s Award for Leadership o Adam VanEssen, Delta Sigma Phi – Outstanding Leadership in a Residential Community Discipline No chapters were sanctioned for violations of university/council policy.
