Fall 2007 Fraternity/Sorority Report Panhellenic/Interfraternity Council Panhellenic Council o The Panhellenic Council completed revisions to their respective constitution and by-laws, including redefinition of officer and delegate roles and chapter cumulative GPA standard of 2.50. Interfraternity Council (IFC) o The IFC completed revisions to their respective constitution (by-laws revision currently in progress). o The IFC hosted a Faculty Appreciation Dinner on November 28, 2007. Academics Fraternity men achieved a term GPA of 2.51, while the all-undergraduate men’s GPA was 2.82 (a difference of 0.31). Sorority women achieved a term GPA of 2.79, while the all-undergraduate women’s GPA was 3.02 (a difference of 0.23). Recruitment 27 undergraduate men joined 9 of the 13 fraternities in the Fall 2007 semester. 26 undergraduate women joined 6 of the 8 sororities in the Fall 2007 semester. Leadership & Involvement 2 students attended the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (sponsored by the North-American Interfraternity Conference) on scholarships from their [inter]national organization: o Brittany Gauthier, Delta Zeta o Mike Uhl, Tau Kappa Epsilon Awards and Recognition 10 students were tapped to join the Order of Omega Greek Leadership Honorary. The following student was recognized through the “Greek Student of the Month” program: o Joe Carpenter, Lambda Chi Alpha – October 2007 Discipline The following organizations were found to be responsible and were sanctioned for violating university policy during Fall 2007: o Delta Phi Epsilon – Organizational Probation until September 28, 2008 o Delta Upsilon – Organizational Probation until April 31, 2009 o Kappa Delta Psi – Organizational Probation until November 1, 2008 o Theta Tau – Organizational Probation until September 5, 2008 The following organization continues its probation status with the university for previous violations: o Tau Kappa Epsilon – Organizational Probation until June 11, 2008 Please contact the Office of Student Activities with any questions about fraternities or sororities at Michigan Tech.
