Panhellenic/Interfraternity Council
Panhellenic Council
o The Panhellenic Council hosted an “April Showers” service event with the local Girl Scouts of America on April 6, 2008.
o The Panhellenic Council welcomed Theta Chi Epsilon as an Associate Member of the council. They will be welcome to petition for Full
Membership at the end of the 2008-2009 academic year.
Interfraternity Council (IFC)
o The IFC completed revisions to their respective bylaws including an increase in the minimum GPA standard to 2.25 for individual membership
and a 2.50 for chapters.
Academics
Fraternity men achieved a term GPA of 2.45, while the all-undergraduate men’s GPA was 2.80 (a difference of 0.35).
Sorority women achieved a term GPA of 2.70, while the all-undergraduate women’s GPA was 3.04 (a difference of 0.34).
Recruitment
33 undergraduate men joined 8 of the 13 fraternities in the Spring 2008 semester.
33 undergraduate women joined 8 of the 8 sororities in the Spring 2008 semester.
Leadership & Involvement
4 student council leaders attended the Mid-American Greek Council Association (MGCA) Annual Conference on February 21-24 in Chicago, IL.
16 fraternity/sorority members attended the 2008 Session of the LeaderShape® Institute on January 7-12, 2008.
Awards and Recognition
Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and Delta Zeta sorority were honored as Outstanding Fraternity and Sorority of the Year respectively at the 2007 Greek
Awards Ceremony on April 15, 2008. Brittany Gauthier (Delta Zeta) and Daniel Woldring (Beta Sigma Theta) were honored as Greek Woman and Man
of the Year, respectively.
The Student Activities office in collaboration with Chapter Presidents presented the Values Integration Awards Program (VIAP) to be implemented
beginning Fall 2008.
Discipline
The following organizations were found to be responsible and were sanctioned for violating university policy during Spring 2008:
o Alpha Delta Alpha – Organizational Probation until December 31, 2008
The following organizations continue their probationary status with the university for previous violations:
o Tau Kappa Epsilon – Organizational Probation until June 11, 2008
o Delta Phi Epsilon – Organizational Probation until September 28, 2008
o Delta Upsilon – Organizational Probation until April 31, 2009
o Kappa Delta Psi – Organizational Probation until November 1, 2008
o Theta Tau – Organizational Probation until September 5, 2008
