Fall 2012 Fraternity/Sorority Report
Educational Programming
Order of Omega planned and hosted the Fall 2012 Greek New Member Orientation.
Leaders from Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council, and Order of Omega hosted a retreat for all Greek organizations to focus on the
recommendations of the recent external review that was conducted.
Recruitment & Membership
 143 New Members (94 male/62 first years & 49 female/21 first years).
 13 Greek students were inducted into Order of Omega.
Involvement
Homecoming 2012 Highlights include:
 Half of the members of Homecoming 2012 Court were Greek:
 Alyssa Sahr, Alpha Sigma Tau
 Janna Clement, Delta Zeta
 Ben Cottrill, Triangle
 Peter Lundin, Lambda Chi Alpha
 Phi Kappa Tau won the Men’s Division (receiving a year’s supply of Toilet Paper from Kimberly Clark)
 Alpha Sigma Tau won the Women’s Division
Service
 The Greek Community, led by Lambda Chi Alpha, gathered 7,000lbs of food for Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly.
 102 Greek volunteers hosted the Welcome Week Blood Drive with 309 pints donated.
 290 Greek members from 16 organizations served during Make A Difference Day.
 Spring 2013 will see documentation of service hours for Winter Carnival Snow Statue Building.
Awards & Recognition
 September 2 is now Phi Kappa Tau Day in Hancock, MI as declared by the Mayor of Hancock.
 Congratulations to Phi Kappa Tau on their 55th Anniversary!
Student Activities Updates:
 Sigma Pi was on National Suspension for Fall 2012 with an Action Plan for review Spring 2013.
 The following organizations were found not responsible for violating university policy during Fall 2012:

 The following organizations are now placed on Academic Warning for Spring 2013 for Fall 2012 Cumulative GPA less than 2.50:
