Gordon College conferred 513 degrees in 2010 – 2011. In spring 2011, the graduation survey was
administered to students who participated in the commencement ceremony. Of the 501 graduates, 158
(31.5%) participated in the survey. The graduation survey assessed students’ satisfaction with their
college experience and academic advisement.
The results of the graduation survey suggest the majority students are satisfied with their experience at
Gordon College. A limited number of demographic questions were asked. The results indicated 59.5%
of the graduates were female and 24.7% were male. Nearly sixteen percent of graduates did not report
their gender. Almost two-thirds, 63.9%, of respondents were less than 25 years of age and 34.2% were
older than 25. Less than two percent of respondents did not report their age.
The top three aspects with the highest satisfaction were:
I have been pleased with the quality of the professors in my major. – 94.3%
I feel my classes at Gordon have prepared me well for future study. – 92.4%
I have been satisfied with the availability of courses in my major. – 91.9%
The top three aspects with the lowest satisfaction were:
My advisor assisted me in developing long term educational goals and plans. – 77.8%
I have been satisfied with the extracurricular learning experience offered for my major. – 84.0%
My advisor encouraged me to come in for assistance. – 84.2%
Overall Highlights
• 94.3% of students were pleased with the quality of professors in their majors
• 92.4% of students believed their studies at Gordon College prepared them for future studies.
• 91.1% of students were satisfied with the availability courses in their majors
• 90.4% of graduates met with their academic advisor at least one time during their matriculation
• 89.2% of students found the day and time of courses convenient
• 85.4% of graduates felt their advisor made it easy for them to get in touch and set up an
advisement time
• 85.4% of graduates believed their advisor was knowledge about course requirements for their
major
• 84.2% of graduates agreed their advisor encouraged them to come in for assistance
• 84.0% of graduates were satisfied with the extracurricular learning experiences offered for
their major
• 77.8% of graduates felt their advisor assisted in developing long term educational goals and
plans
