first.

6. Do you have to be a freshman to live in the apartment style dorms?
No, all classifications of students may live in the apartment style dorms s as well as the traditional halls.
7. What amenities will an apartment style dorm student benefit from?
Apartment style facilities have laundry rooms, computer labs/units, multi-purpose rooms for programming events and study
groups, lobby/lounge areas with television, and close parking lots. Each room/unit is furnished with twin bed, desk, chair, closet
space, blinds for windows, cable port, telephone jack (local access), computer ports, and heating/air thermostats. In addition,
apartment style housing is located on the same side of campus as the gymnasium, indoor pool, and the athletic fields.
8. How is apartment style housing different from traditional style housing?
The major differences are privacy in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Residents can have their own lockable space for personal
items/belongings. The bathrooms are shared with only one other individual. In addition, the apartment style housing has
furniture that is more easily adjusted and arranged in the room. While the traditional style housing is closely located to
Highlander Hall (main café in Student Center), the apartment style housing (Village specifically) has a mini-restaurant located in
it that all residents can patronize. Lastly, the apartment style facilities are accessible by card access via lobby/hallway doors and
by key access for the rooms.
9. How do the meal plans apply?
Resident students may choose from any of the three meal plans regardless of which housing location they choose. The meal
plans can be used from Sunday through Saturday during Café hours and start over at the beginning of every week. Each meal
plan has a certain amount of Gordon Bucks associated with it. Gordon Bucks are food dollars that can be used at any dining
(Grounds Café-Student Center, The Spot-Gordon Village, the Gordon Grind and Simply to Go -IC Building, Student Activity and
Recreation Center-Sandella’s and The Grille) location on campus. R-2/5/2016
