If so, explain. ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ What qualities make you the best candidate for this position? ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Candidates for Senatorial Positions must meet the following criteria: Must not be on disciplinary or academic probation Must be enrolled in a minimum of eight (8) hours per semester Sophomore-Senior candidates must have at least a 2.2 cumulative GPA at the time of election. Candidates shall also have completed no less than thirty (30) credit hours at the college level. Freshman candidates shall have completed fewer than thirty (30) credit hours at the college level and must have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or better. Shall submit a written declaration of intent to run for senate to the Director of Student Activities prior to the election. Should plan to be enrolled as a full time student the entire school year that you would be in SGA. The SGA has to have a representative on Campus Wide Committees. If elected to serve as SGA senator, please rate the following committees of interest.(1 being the most interesting and 8 being the least interesting. _______Academic/Student Judicial Committee (8 members). The committee shall conduct discipline hearings in accordance with the established regulations of the College. Prior to any hearing, a student government representative shall meet with the student and inform the student of his or her rights to due to process. Must elect a faculty member to serve as chair (from the Faculty Senate Judicial Committee) _______Academic Policy Committee (1 member). The committee shall review and formulate academic regulations and degree requirements. The committee shall be responsible for the approval and review of all academic programs, course offerings, the appropriate hours of credit, and the catalog description of the courses. _______Human Subject Review Committee (1 member). To serve in an advisory capacity to the President. To develop procedures for the evaluation of research proposals as stated under the purpose of this committee. _______Instructional Technology Committee (1 member). The committee shall revisit annually the instructional technology needs of the College and make specific recommendations for t their maintenance and enhancement. _______Library Committee (1 member). The committee shall make recommendations on all matters of the library, such as: library requirements, staffing and equipment, acquisitions, and operating hours. _______Planning Committee (1 member). The committee shall assist the administrative division of the college with the development of guidelines, criteria, and procedures for program, fiscal, and physical planning, and the institutional strategic plan and master. _______Student Advisory Committee (8 members). Duties would be to research all concerns from the USG and Gordon Community. _______Club Committee(8 members). Duties would be to meet on a monthly basis with the presidents of campus clubs.
